The Australian MC2600 Note acceptors contain one of two versions of firmware. This firmware controls what denominations of notes are accepted and the setting that are controlled by the dip switches.

MC2600s that are dated with a serial number D3206XXX or later (eg, D5006XXXX) are set to be able to accept all notes up to $100, The dip switches are :

Pin 1: $10 acceptance.

Pin2: $20 acceptance.

Pin3: $50 acceptance.

Pin4: $100 acceptance.

The $5 note is always accepted.

Pins 5-8 are not used.

MC2600s that are dated with a serial number D3006XXX or earlier (eg, D3805XXXX) are set to be able to accept all notes up to $50, The dip switches are :

Pin 1: $5 acceptance.

Pin2: $10 acceptance.

Pin3: $20 acceptance.

Pin4: $50 acceptance.

Pins 5-8 are not used.

Some MC2600s during the transition period (around D3206XXXX) may have the incorrect labelling with regards the dip switch controls.
