Frequently Asked Questions

Can faulty 9300 3-tube coin changers be serviced?

A: No, as of January 2008 these models are considered OBSOLETE and will no longer be serviced. Servicing is limited to warranty repairs and the most trivial repairs. Parts supplies are no longer available.

Can I get a replacement for my 3-Tube coin mech?

A: Yes and No. A replacement is available for the single price electromechanical coin mech (with the 8+1 pin jones plug), it is the ALQ-F707. Unfortunately a replacement for the L+ logic coin mech (with the 15 pin jones plug) is unavailable, although a kit is available to convert the Merlin2000 vending machine from L+ logic to MDB protocol. This kit (p/n: 012153) is available for $654.92 +GST, or a package deal is available for $900+GST that includes the conversion kit with a new ALQ-G707 MDB coin mech.

Are the 9300 3-tube coin changers still available for sale?

A: No, they are obsolete and therefore unavailable for sale at Coinco.

Can the change tubes be changed on a 3-Tube changer?

A: No, although the middle 10c tube can be changed to accept $1 coins, the lack of parts and their unavailability makes this conversion impossible.

What different models were there in the 9300 3-tube changers?

A:

9300 changers were configured with

  • single price electromechanical or
  • the L+ protocol connection harness,

The 3 tube are either configured as

  • with a 20c - 10c ($1) - 5c
  • or 20c - 10c ($1) - 10c.

How do I send my faulty coin mech in for service and what will it cost?

A:

Faulty coin mechs can be sent to us for service at Coin Acceptors  Attn: Workshop, Unit 1 / 2 Morton Street, Parramatta NSW 2150. I recommend a register and/or insured service to ensure proof of delivery.

When sending in your coin mechs for service include your company name and contact details (name and phone number). Ensure a street (not postal address) is included in your details as we will return it via TNT couriers.

Also include a description of the fault, as this will help us complete your repairs sooner and allow us to service the mech in case we find no fault.

The service charge is $67+GST plus any parts used in the repair. Return freight will also be charged.
